Hurricane Melissa is a powerful Category 5 storm posing a serious threat to the lives and livelihoods of Jamaicans. In its aftermath, recovery will take every helping hand. Together, let us stand ready to protect and help families recover, rebuild homes and restore livelihoods once the storm passes.
This website is established to mobilise support for Jamaica's emergency response, recovery efforts and provide the latest information related to Hurricane Melissa. We know from experience that preparation, rapid response, and sustained recovery efforts save lives and restore communities. Many areas, particularly along Jamaica's southern coast, are among the most vulnerable, having been impacted by a major Hurricane in 2024. This platform helps ensure assistance reaches those who need it, when they need it most.
The Hurricane Melissa Relief initiative is coordinated by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Jamaica's national agency for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. ODPEM works in partnership with local authorities, private-sector partners, and international relief organisations to ensure transparent and accountable management of all resources and donations.
Our goal is to build a national relief and recovery fund that supports families, farmers, and fisherfolk in rebuilding their homes and livelihoods, while strengthening Jamaica's long-term resilience to future storms.
Your support now will help to strengthen Jamaica's resilience and the process of recovery. Let's stand in solidarity with our people.
Every contribution counts. Together, we can help Jamaica recover stronger, safer, and more resilient.
